standout music videos of the decade.

3 Dec

Cut me some slack. I’m sure I haven’t seen all the best music videos of the decade. These are just ones that stood out to me as favorites…

9. Single Ladies (Put A Ring On It) by Beyonce (2008). If you don’t get lost staring at her legs for at least ten seconds, I wonder what’s wrong with you. haha! she is magnificent.

8. We Will Become Silhouettes by The Postal Service (2005), directed by Jared Hess. This was when Jenny Lewis was a member of the band. Ben Gibbard looks so funny in a popped collar. Adorable.

7. Hey Ya! by Outkast (2003). Love me some Andre 3000.

6. Move Along by The All American Rejects (2005). Mulitple face shots of Tyson Ritter? Yes, please.

5. 1 2 3 4 by Feist (2007). So simple, yet so amazing!

4. See Fernando by Jenny Lewis (2009). This music video is perfection. Probably exactly how I would have made it. It’s a great combination of A B 70’s spy movie and Amelie. Love it.

**copy and paste. it’s worth it. trust me. >>> http://www.alantannersvideos.com/wp-content/video/See%20Fernando%20Final.mov

3. Oxford Comma by Vampire Weekend (2008) an ode to Wes Anderson in my opinion.

2. Here It Goes Again by OK Go (2006). I know this got overplayed, but I about lost it the first time I saw this video. Ridiculously creative.

1. Helena by My Chemical Romance (2005) I fell in love with this music video the instant I saw it. And not another music video has come along to take it’s spot as my favorite music video of all time.

So I know this is my list of nine, but here are some honorable mentions… Strawberry Swing by Coldplay, The Ghost of You by My Chemical Romance, Us by Regina Spektor, First Date by Blink 182, and of course On A Boat by The Lonely Island and T-Pain.
